Electric Bass, Acoustic Objects
Axel Haller works mainly in the fields of improvised and experimental music and has developed a highly individual approach towards the electric bass. In his playing he is focusing on selected aspects of sound and subtle changes within the music. In addition to the electric bass he makes use of found objects, without amplification, working with the sound characteristics and resonance properties of the particular room.
He is currently member of attacca (w/ Dave Bennett - guitar & Matthias Müller - trombone), inien (w/ Johannes Tröndle - Cello), Trio Vopá (w/ Roland Spieth - Trumpet & Cornelius Veit - Guitar) and a duo with accordionist Ute Völker. He is also co-founder of schraum.
Further collaborations include musicians such as Thomas Gerwin, Christian Marien, Christoph Reimann, Torsten Papenheim, Alessandra Eramo, Annette Krebs, Sabine Vogel, Antoine Chessex and many more.
